:dunce:
Engine is strong 1-2 shift fork is weak Front adjustable end-links are rusted Rear fenders need a roll tuck Gauges need a fix Next is local dyno time at Carb-Conn to check a few items, then off to Cobb for the final. It will happen finally. :squint: |
Are you going to set up a dyno day at Carb-Conn like we did last year? I'd like to get another run at it.
|
No, I just need to run some gears under load and do it legally ;) I need to monitor my fuel and oil pressure access ports, and to see if this tune can be pushed at Portland, if all checks out well. I have not load stressed this build fully yet, and the dyno is the place to do that.

Yes I would. A friend of mine might want to join too, he just bought a CTS-V, if that's cool.

Congrats on the 2 year anniversary, btw. The car breaks the rears loose in 2nd, and I'm running sticky tread with the Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ rubber. :) |

thanks man - after the "snowpacolypse" event this month is finally over, hopefully I can get this going again.

from fla, usa.. low key, likes to help. but hates stupid and trolls.. but wonders why after 8 years, no simple FI solution.. really. he thinks team is the stig. but in a generous way!!!! ;) really i am so trying to catch up. but really seems like it has not changed much. you and denny and juan are just more dialed in!! would be so funny to be banned after being gone for 6 months. beers  |

beers  This is the truth - I fell like I am "stuck in time" ever since I purchased the RX8.... After nearly 100,000 miles, I basically have almost given up. The Rick Engman street ported build I have, with the Iannetti ceramic seals, is a beast for NA. I wish to boost it, but my money has been going to support the family lately... I need a lotto win! lmao I will toast you tonight with some 25 year old Macallan. :p: |
Dyno Today

Up 10 HP from last year on the same dyno. Dyno had trouble picking up RPM as usual up high in the rev range, so I'm not sure if this number would be higher. I hit only 203.04 g/s at 7598 RPM on this 5th gear plotted dyno. I hit 213 g/s on the 4th gear pull that I did not chart. I hit 229 g/s at 8594 RPM in 5th gear in 2010. Where is my airflow? My calculated load is down. The airflow drops off where the VDI should open, and it goes rich on the AFR there also.

Got any logs you can post up?

5th gear dyno log uploaded it as an excel file. Never mind the far right columns. Those are modified for my chart appearance.
I will go make another log this weekend. I made 190 HP down at Portland during the Cobb dyno day, and made 190 up here in Redmond today. I guess this build is just going to sit where it is at 190. You would think a Mazdamaniac dyno tuned street port would breath better. Something is amiss it seems. Car runs awesome, so go figure? If that graph from the dyno would have made it farther due to properly picking up RPM, then maybe it would show better results? |

I made 190 / 136 on 12-06-10 @ Cobb in Portland
I made 180 / 123 on 01-29-11 @ CarbConn in Kirkland I made 190 / 137 on 07-12-12 @ CarbConn in Kirkland I need to go back down to Cobb and see if my logic makes sense that I may be at 200 on the Cobb dyno? Racing Beat dyno shows that I am missing something TeamRX8's dyno on a Mustang at Cobb shows 220 is attainable NA Eric Meyer's dyno on a Dynojet shows 223 is attainable in NA race trim rx8performance.com street port on a Dynojet shows 238 NA, and the best that I have seen yet :dunno: |
haha you should come up to the dyno day we'll be having up here in the near future and try a new one. ;)
|
Linky? :) I'm in so let me know!
|
