Random PNW DIY Inquiries....

Hey gang,

So before I pull the trigger on this Grom AUX adapter thingy for the stereo, just wanted to do some quick consultation work: being that, is there a way to create a fake relay for my "Tape/MD" button to think that there actually is a tape player there, and to play through an AUX cable? So instead of getting some sort of module for 70 bucks, maybe a 10 dollar fix? I'm sure many people without Tap Players (EVERYONE BUT DONDO) would love to know of this little tid-bit.

Well, after a quick search.....I see you've been in most of the Grom threads, so that's pointless in linking them.
I installed on in my daughters 3, but its completely different than what it would be in an 8.
She is able to use the steering wheel buttons to change modes between "USB", "AUX", "CD", etc.

However in the RX8 you wouldn't have that option if you're going to use the Grom unit?

See I was looking at that, and it made me think, is there a way to do it at home, with just soldering a few connections and adding a resistor or something?
