Cool Audio link

I finally got an Audio link for my I-Pod. Install was easy. Quality of the sound is great!!! Better the a CD, But only if I use the 1/8 plug. If I use the I-pod plug it make a high pitch noise, when I turn the volume up past 12 and you head it to when it changing from one song to an other song at low volume. So I call them and they are sending me an other cable to see if that fix-it.

I'm getting ready to integrate my Radar Detector and Police Scanner into the Bose. Just need a better understanding of MOSFETs and do a little RadioShacking (hey, if it's acceptable to use google as verb, why not your local store).

My audiolink works fine at any volume. I would exchange it for another unit.

but I have seen a few installs, just curious which one you used
and if you took pictures during installation.
Thanks, Matt22

The DIY with the pics on each step helped me. Took me about a hour to install. The only hard part is taking the bolt out on the drivers side in order to take out the car deck.

My mini with audio link works fine. Glad you got it fixed.

I broke a tab off my center console cover sliding the thing closed over the cable by accident, though. I think I might try to re-route it into the glovebox instead.

Draw-back on the new nano, you do have to push play on the nano, went you want to use it. It will not start playing music with out you doing this. As for the rest, you can change song, it does charge it, and the sound is great!!!

I know this is an old thread but I can't seem to figure out how to start a new one. I have an 04 RX8 with the firmware version 9.53. According to these old posts, thexlink won't work on mine.
So now what??

Buy a used one with a newer firmware.
Or send it out to have the firmware updated:

I cross-linked this thread in mine:

https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/audiolink-ipod-adapter-static-electrical-interference-198795/#post3603209

I have been observing the weird noises over the dock connector with multiple iPods. I find it interesting that the OP has managed to overcome this with a new iPod.

OP: Did you actually go through and get the new cable?
