Jingle Ballzzzz!
Hahaha on the wheels/tires... yeah, I'm afraid!
Have autox'd twice. Once when you and your son were there at Packwood 124Spider... Dunno if you guys remember me. I had to drop out after lunch because I got a screw in my right rear tire Although, a guy with a white S2K loaned me his car for the afternoon
I already have the speed addiction... and I'm good.... ask anyone who's been on a TWR drive

A well set up RX-8, with shocks and front sway bar, is a beast of an autocross car, in stock class. I you've already made mods that can't be undone, that put you in a higher class, it really doesn't matter. Just go out and try to get better.
I am at the point where I rate my performance not by my standing, but by how far behind various gurus I am. You can do the same with any car, on any course.

That's pretty much how I've been rating myself. Between the AP and 17x9" wheels, I can't rock stock class anymore so I'm gonna make the jump straight to coilovers and stay in STX. Around here, everyone seems to be on larger wheels, intakes and exhaust though.

As of now, there are still 3 slots open for next Tuesday's (the 21st) all day lap day at PR. I'll be hitting the afternoon portion, anyone else interested in going? Hopefully it won't be raing haha.

That was awesome. I highly recommend everyone does a day out at the track with an instructor.
I started out by riding with my instructor in his C5 Z06. We were flying and i felt like he was going so much faster than i would be able to. I mean, yes, his car is way faster than mine but it surprised me how much grip my car had when you take the right line and have the correct throttle and braking. When i nailed a series of turns i was cookin pretty good.
I had fuel starvation issues really bad in the last session. My fuel gauge is messed up because i dented my fuel tank but i had no idea i was running low on fuel. 40 miles of highway driving and 90 miles of track = ~10mpgs
Today also reinforced my plans to get racing seats. Sitting with my head kinked into the sunroof hole made may back hurt so bad when fighting lateral G's for 20+ minutes.
Car Highlights:
Vintage Ford GT40 running 335's on the rears (it was gorgeous!)
997 GT3 RS (Silver/Orange)
Aston Martin V8 Vantage
996 GT2
VR RX8 (photographer not running and trying to sell his car)
Silver GTR (not running)
Other than that it was the usual slew of 911's. The was a surprising majority of Porsches though. I'd say 60-70%.
Man i'm exhausted...

It's amazing how fast our cars really are out there isn't it? For the next time you go, I was under 1/2 a tank after two sessions with just 56 miles driven, including driving from the gas station. The next session would have dropped me below 1/4 tank. I was averaging 7 MPG.
Glad to hear you had a great time!!!

I thought so. My old RX4 did many 1/4 mile runs and a couple of road course sessions back in the early '80s there. I was at an NHRA event running some bracket races between funny car heats. The announcer in the tower said "Here's the loudest car out here next to the funny cars".
Glad to see you guy's are enjoying the track.
