Anybody else committed to dyno? If so, add your names to the list, so if you don't show up, I'll know who to smack! :D

I officially cannot be there now. I never committed my name to the list but I figured I'd chime in anyway. I've got to be in Yakima on Saturday to pretend I'm a rock star.

Darin - You still bringing donuts?

Everyone - If you want regular coffee I'll bring it, but I don't want to bring a ton of it if you're already going to stop at Starbucks (or someplace else) for a latte on the way.

Krispy Kremes....

Just a warning if you're picky about coffee... There are mostly Starbucks stores on my way, so that's what I'm bringing tomorrow morning. A box-o-coffee If you guys really hate it, let me know and I'll try to find something else. I can't tell the difference myself, but I am not a coffee person.

I used to work above a machine shop. As long as you don't degrease car parts in it, I've had worse.

I was hoping to make it on this one but I still have to drive my kids and nieces to Kumon for their morning tutor (which is why I didn't commit yet when this event was first posted). I'm planning on getting a new exhaust system for my 8 and I wanted to get a stock read on HP and torque before I put it in. Ah well, maybe next time then. I hope you guys post your reads. Really curious to see how it all went.

See you all for the drive tomorrow.

This just in: The AutoExe CF Splitter adds 40HP!!

OK. Maybe not.

I actually *did* show up and jumped on the dyno. My numbers were less than exciting; especially considering I've got a couple mods that supposedly add some minor HP numbers.

185.1 HP
140.9 ft-lbs torque

My specifics:

2005 car
AEM cold air intake
Agency Underdrive Pulley

Eh. The cold air intake sounds throaty and nice in the upper RPM's and it got some comments so I guess that wasn't a total waste. Plus the blue intake looks good under to hood - it keeps with my white/black/blue theme that is going on with my car.

Sweet looking body kit Bri. Definitely looks sharp on white. Big thanks to DMP for putting this together today. It was fun, easy, and informative. I'm happy to see my '04 (*cough* original model year sucks *cough*) was able to keep up.

Here's my dyno graph.

Full disclosure: This is an uncorrected dyno result at air temp of 52 degrees F in 4th gear. My modifications are: Racing Beat Aluminum Flywheel, Redline transmission fluid. Stock intake, exhaust, and everything else. It is an '04 GT with 53K miles on it and latest PCM flash. Also this run was not a fluke. We performed 4 runs on my car and the results were within 1 hp variation.

Have I mentioned that I love my car!!

Resized for DMP's tiny monitor

Went well - VERY glad Bri showed up; FOUR cars doesn't qualify for the 'discounted' dyno rate. I think I won't do a dyno day again where I only have the bare-minimum sign up.

Other than that - things were great; good to see old friends, and meet Brian.

I found out I'm not crazy; I have data now...data which lends to my Butt-Dyno being VERY well calibrated.

Note the dyno plot w/ the OLD engine - vs. today's dyno plot w/ the new engine.

yikes the new engine seems to putting down much less power. What does your dealership say about this?

Mazda Dealer DMP

Go get 'em. And don't take anything but "we're really sorry we're a bunch of *** clowns and we are going to get to the bottom of this. After we're done we're going to put it on a dyno at our cost and make sure it is running within spec."
