I just got my 8 back from UMazda today. No new engine, despite the issues I had on the Vegas trip and the few hot starts I had starting last summer. They said everything is in spec (I brought my compression numbers from when Mike and Shaun checked them) and I just needed new sparkplugs. They said the coils are good though. The rough idle is gone, but we'll see how it goes. It's hard for me to tell how much power I have, because I've spent the last couple of days zipping effortlessly around in a Mazda6
.Ugh.. I paid a fortune for everything (they did my brakes too) and I know you guys will give me ****, but with everything going on in my life (lost my sister), I just don't have the brain capacity to coordinate other options. Oh well...
Well, so it one was one really rough start, cranked for maybe 5 pr 6 seconds. I'd had something similar happen maybe 3 or 4 weeks before. I dunno, it didn't feel down on power afterwards. Leon suggested I could've flooded it?

Nate - Holy crap! I think you're a lightning rod for catastrophe
Nick - I've had that happen 3 times in the last year. Two when it was really hot outside and once when it was sort of hot, but I'd been driving a lot that day - stops and starts. I've never heard of anyone flooding a hot engine, only starting it cold and shutting if off before it warms up. I think if you would have flooded it, you would have had a lot more problems getting it started. But what do I know :P

Practice days are pretty much the best thing ever. It's basically an autox with <30 people.
