I didn't want to take the car out for a total joy ride. Riding in his good graces, so a short trip down i5 and around town I thought was good enough.

It's not for sale to you... it's not in the best shape either. Needs lots of brad loving.

It's a bolt in cusco cage nick.

Well its not my car, someone just let me take it out for a spin. Maybe it could be pending how this insurance deal works out.

***update***

My insurance guy just stopped by and looked at the car. There is like a big U channel under the trunk of the car (minimal structure support looks wise (only exhaust hangs off of there)) He stated it looks like all the damage was done up top. He said it looks to be repairable from what he sees. He has to crunch some numbers and see if it costs more than the car.

Im afraid that if they do fix it the suspension mounting locations will never be true the same and car will never handle like it did. Also im not sure if Galaxy Gray is a pain to paint match like VR is. Might require a full paint job, which is more money.

If they take the car to remove body pieces to locate more damage I still have the option to remove my mods. Thats what he said he would do for me because he doesnt want to see me lose anything I did to the car, which is cool.

Ill get a phone call from him tomorrow afternoon, now we wait. I still yet to get in contact with his insurance. His agent doesnt seem to like to pick up her phone or return calls.

Good Luck!

I think the suspension will be fine if they do fix it. My experience has been that if they straighten it it seems to be measured to tighter tolerances than the factory put them together as. But... my past experience has been with american cars, so I am not sure about Mazda factory tolerances.

only way that is repairable is if you cut the back half of another 8 and weld the whole thing together with a supporting tube chassis all around it.

Hope you get that FD.

Do you own it 100%? or making payments still?
If you own it 100%, then
1. take the money for repairs
2. part out the car
3. ???
4. get an FD
5. ???
6. Profit

Tomorrow the car heads off to a stealership to check out its electrical problems/starting problems.

After they get a price on the cost to fix it might push the car into a total state and no need to transport it to the bodyshop. I than get the car back into my driveway and off come the mods and they will be for sale locally first. Trying to figure out who I could sale the autopower rollbar to....hmm...Nem maybe?

Just bolts in. Remember I installed it in your parking lot. You will have to drill 4 holes in each location.

You can keep the rear seats, but the plastic pieces along the side of the seats have to be cut to fit the bar. We could swap pieces.

The carpet/matting has to be cut so the roll bar behind the seat sits flush with the metal.

And your dome light will be crushed a little.

Also it will make noises. It creaks and pops when I am driving it super hard. Even through I-5 you can hear it work around. Nature of the beast.
