Can you elaborate more...so were you just running the base FI from MM on the AP, and the car was still running fine, etc? Because I was under the impression that the base FI map was not a tuned map rather just to give you readings.

Alright took out the Greddy completely. Installed the MM FI map and still got AFRs that idled at 14.7 then while in boost according to the AP stayed at 14.7 the whole way through. Still had problems accelerating past 5k it was starting to "buck" again. Gosh I tempted to just take off the turbo kit...is it possible that I may have damaged my engine already?

the greddy intake is not going to work with the ap, that's a lot of the problem right there

well -you should have taken it gingerly into boost looking at the afr's the whole time then backing off if you saw high numbers ...

The greddy intake sucks (so to speak) . You need a decent intake ... AEM , Mazsport , make your own . The key is to get the right diameter at the maf housing and plenty of straight pipe before the maf to get a good reading .

And yet - none of this information help to determine why the AFR's are reading incorrectly.

Please; you need to figure that out - not swap intakes. I have 5000 boosted miles on the Greddy intake; it is not THAT bad.

he already replaced his 02 - but yes you are right Kane . There is something else screwing around with his readings .

How about if he takes the car to a shop with a sensor that clips into the exhaust to get a reading that he can compare to the AP reading ?

Did you read the instructions? The thread? Anything?
Really. What would lead you to think that its just a "base map"?
It is an application-specific tune.
If you filled out the form correctly, you got a calibration for your car that matches what you have modified.
If you asked for a turbo tune - you got one.

Further tuning is accomplished by following the instructions in the e-mail precisely.

That said, you obviously have something wrong. A leak, a disconnected/damaged sensor or a failure in vacuum/pressure routing or wiring.

MM,

I understand that it is an application-specific tune. I am getting the new 02 Sensor put in today. hopefully this will fix my problem. The reason I said it was base FI map was because you said "The calibration set that you receive is NOT a "tuning" set. Changing calibrations up or down the series is NOT a viable way to alter the target AFR values or gain power/drivability. The series is ONLY intended to discover the correct MAF calibration for your particular vehicle and intake setup. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS PROVIDED HERE EXACTLY WILL YIELD A POOR TUNE AND INVALIDATE ANY FURTHER TUNING ATTEMPTS!" I will keep you guys updated.

that could be a big issue if there was mis-communication, when i got my map from MM i had the greddy intake at the time and that was the map i was given and my afr's where good enough to work with you might want to check your email and make sure the description is correct

Yeah maybe I will have to check when I get home. But I am getting the new O2 Sensor put in today regardless. I will post the end result when I get it put in. Hopefully it was just a bad 02 Sensor.

So that's it? Was the bump in power noticable at lower rpm?

I've never put the seat time into anything under a V-8 thumping anyless than 302 cubes, so I'm curious.

The advertisement for the new 370 Z on the site sickens me just a side note, no Z, Evo, or STi has ever so much as trailed my Rex since I put on the Fidanza flywheel and clutch setup.

J. Cab just wanted to see if you were going to make it down to Seattle anytime soon. I would love to check out the set up and soak up some of your knowledge.

Also I wanted to extend an invite to this weekends car run with The-Winding-Road. We usually get about 8-10 8's out and a few others but no turbo'd 8's since I have been with the group. check out the-winding-road.com to get more info.

I would love to go to The Winding Road drives. Unfortunately being in the military I have to work this weekend. Generally speaking the reason I don't go on the drives is because I live in Oak Harbor (Whidbey Island) and most of the drives are down South. However, I am down in Seattle about every couple of weekends. In fact I am going to be in Seattle from whole weekend on the 5-8 of Dec. So if anyone wants to meet up I can do that then. I am going to see if I can finally get this PPO2 ball rolling with Chris. But let me know if anyone wants to hang out.

500HP?? GL with that....I doubt anyone will ever see 500 HP on the renesis. Even if it does happen, it will be short lived.

I would just keep your 04 and swap in a turbo'd 20B. You will see well over 500HP with that setup.

Yeah, the Renesis exhaust ports are too small to get you into that range with any longevity.

I dunno, with Racing Beat Balenced rotors my Current setup does fairly okay on 100 Oct and 16psi boost, bit overkill but does good, I think with some bridge and exhaust porting it could be done, just as a race day thing, 400hp for DD, I have a TT RX-7 I snagged in a shady deal with some guys we're looking into getting Greddy on that right after we get the Racing Beat Internals and a new housing, it was fucked up by us, that is me and my Bro Trey.

So, I take it, you know nothing about the Renesis, then?
