Good Body Shop?
Greetings, Northwesterners! This is my first post here on the NW forum, having recently moved to Washington from Massachusetts.
Sadly, even more recently, I managed to bash the side of my Shinka on a cement pillar in a parking garage, and now must find a body shop for the repair. Can anybody recommend a good body shop in the Bellevue, WA area? Almost as helpful, can anybody recommend any places *to stay away from*? I'm more than a little concerned about finding someone who will be able to get the Shinka black cherry right.
advTHANKSance,
Krankor

Someone backed into the driver's door of our RX-8 in a parking lot (with her Expedition); it's in Bel-Kirk Auto Body in Kirkland now. If you remind me, I'll let you know how it went (it's on her insurance company's nickel). This is our first body work in ten years of living here.

I can tell you who not to use. Aurora Collison Center Inc. The paint work done was attrocious.
Aurora Collison Center Inc. is part of the State Farm network and was recommended by the the service manager at University Mazda.

Taylor's Autobody in Renton does a great job! My bro got in an accident with his civic and they did a great job w/ the paint. Recently I went to Auburn Autobody to get some body work on my 8 and they did a good job as well (fixed my fender, repaint the front and side fender, debadged the front and rear trunk).

As with all body work, however, it's not cheap. It seems that the best way to really fix it is to get a new "skin" for the door, rather than filling it in with bondo. That plus the painting cost the other person's insurance company close to $1500.

So in the end, I called Lee Johnson to see if they had anybody they recommended, and they gave me a VERY strong endorsement of Evergreen Auto Rebuild, in Kirkland. So I decided to give it a shot. They were just terrific. He got it done *sooner* than promised, and it looks flawless; I couldn't find anything wrong with it. I'd certainly go back.

Very cool. I'll keep them in mind if something unfortunate happens to my car.
I just moved to Bellevue a few weeks ago, we should go cruising sometime

(The first time I borrowed my fiance's Dodge Ram 4x4, I got caught under the swingarm of a train track crossing and it came down and bounced a few times on top of the hood Needless to say, I did not want to go home that night ! After he calmed down, well really he just said "are you ok?" , he said no problem - Riverside is great. And they are (oh yeah, the truck was black ). I later took a visor for the same truck to be painted there and it also came out great)
