so the driving school was awesome. the morning was three activities that groups rotated through. first was a ground school in a classroom setting where they told you lots of stuff that you're supposed to remember. the second was a handling oval where you practice executing the two 180 degree turns and work on hitting the apex correctly, braking, steering, vision, throttle, etc. the third was an autox style course that you ran laps on for practice. in the afternoon they set up a road course using the whole track and the groups took turns running that. late in the afternoon they opened it up so i got a good 30-40 minutes of running constantly and exploring the limits of the car good times.

oh.. gt3s are fast and can and do run laps around me.

I had a blast today. Being in my own car, I was willing to push it harder than I did in yours. They ran almost the same course with that straight away before the final turn around gone, it was much more of a slalom now, still made it to the shift beep in 2nd before braking for the turn though. Not nearly as many spins this time either. There were 2 other 8's there not on the boards, I gave them both the address and told them to hop on.

For anyone with tomorrow free, it's $40 if you register online, they were asking for checks today but they were ok with me giving cash. I'd bring your check book just in case. Register online here: http://www.nwr-scca.org/solo/nextevent.htm
