WA 2/9/09 Accident on 520 Bridge

So this morning the 520 bridge was closed not once but twice during the height of the morning commute. Much to my surprise the vehicles involved was a Metro bus and sadly a Black Mazda RX8. Hopefully no one we know was involved because I saw the RX8 at the west end of the bridge and it was not in good shape.

Hopefully if it was someone we know on here they are ok because it was not a pretty site to see the rear end of that RX8 as smashed as it was.

That's to bad for the owner of the RX8. Hopefully they're OK.
I got rear ended on the West highrise by a VW one time. Look in the rearview mirror to see him schreeching and sliding, BAM. Caved in his front end. Put a little dent in the bumper of my Cordoba. Hehe.

I saw it this morning too, but I thought it was one of the 40th Anniversaries but I could be wrong, I was Eastbound on the bridge.

That sucks. Hopefully they're ok.

I don't know about everyone else but I woke up to almost an inch of snow this morning. My 8 will be sitting in the garage until all this nonsense clears up. Time to warm up my truck.

Nydted1 - where in Kirkland do you live? I'm up on Finn Hill by the Jr high.

Over in the Kingsgate are by the Jr. High up there. Had a couple inches at my place and while it was treacherous to get going, I still managed to get out of my neighborhood.

I had a half inch of snow ontop of an inch of ice by me, I wasn't planning on driving in this morning and after seeing the snow I definitely wasn't even if it made me late. I was on the first westbound 545 after it was closed and man, there were another 40 or 50 people waiting to get on. The way this place shuts down at the sight of snow is pretty amazing.

Cool. I drive near there going to and from work. I'd bet I've seen your car before - about half the time in the winter I'm driving my Tacoma so you'd never know it was me.

The snow is really spotty right now - some places got more tonight and some not so much. It tends to only be on the hills in the Kirkland/Bothell area - there is at least a half inch of new snow at my house in Juanita. Bellevue didn't really seem to have any this evening.

I live up the hill from the U-District and we had a layer of ice with snow on top all day yesterday. I'm pretty sure on my stock tires I wouldn't have made it up it. The drive wheels on the bus I was on kept slipping whenever we had to start up again in the stop and go traffic up 25th.

Those buses drive like crazy over there though, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the bus driver
