Got my 8 three weeks ago and my dad took it away today because I burned it out. :[[

You burned it out... Infront of him? How old are you? 0_o

My dad saw me kick my tail out around a corner once, thankfully he doesn't have the power to take it away :D

I pulled a hard launch, then later spun out with my dad in the passenger seat one time... I think I almost made him soil himself!

Unfortunately, he didn't want to go for another run.

This was, of course, at an autocross event. YMMV with your father.

Tell him you accidentally turned off the traction control?

Man, I saw the thread title and assumed it was stolen. Be careful, an 8 may not be the best first sports car by a long shot... But hey, if you respect the fact that the car can outrun you you'll be alright.

My dad raised me to be a car nut. At 12 years old he would let me steer the car while on his lap as he worked the gas and brakes. He would show me how to do donuts, 360's, and J-Turns. When I was 19, he bought me my first car (97' Honda Civic Si). He took me to a exhaust shop to have the muffler cut out! LOL.

I'm much older now (31) and he is too, but when we take out my 8 and his Cayman S we rip it on late night drives. He laughs when I drift the Porsche, and often tell me he'll take good care of her so I can keep her as a classic in the future. LOL

Growing up doesn't have to be boring and dad's don't always have to be square. Have fun with your dad but know his limits and abide by them, it's a respect thing.

Haha I appreciate all the feed back... It's really made my day.

He found out from a picture via myspace.

And I'm 15 so no... I won't grow up. It isn't time for that yet. I was psyched when I got it. But he paid the bill up front no questions asked. (For a steal I might add)

technically if you're 15 you shouldn't have been driving the car without him in it...that could also be a reason that he got mad at you, and took the car away.

Yah... I agree. This is definitely way too much car for 15yr old. Ask your Dad to put the 8 in storage and pick up a 200sx for you to learn on. They're cheap, fun, and a lot less likely to kill you.

Ya don't do things where he'll find out. Let this be a lesson for you to not to post anything on Myspace that can cause trouble in the future. This includes future employers or law enforcement.
I did some stupid (not serious) things when I was a teen. My father found out about some of them. You know they were wrong, but you do them anyway. Then, you have to pay the price.
