actually I dont agree with this. There are quite a few 400hp cam only LS1's so a 350hp turbo Ren does not fit with what you are saying. The LSx platform is not too terribly heavy and the vette seems to handle quite well with it.

I dont understand what peoples problem with engine swaps is. If it wern't for swaps there would be no Cobra.

Stop being fanboys.

On the subject or your motor I would make Mazda replace it. If they will not do a LSx swap.

regardless of whether it's a fanboi or not, the best option for him (based on what he described) would be getting a renesis, regardless if mazda covers it. He made it sound like he wants his car back quick. If there was some kind of kit for a common swap, then it might be reasonable, but there's going to be a lot of time and money going into a swap for this car.

I used to be kind of against piston swaps... but they grew on me over time when done well with good engines. I'd love to see an LS7 in an 8.
