Im thinking when this motie bites the dust, I'm gonna put in a LSx motor. I have a few firends with LS1 RX7's, but I havent heard of an RX8's.

Hinson Supercars would be your best bet for help but to do such a swap will require a "front-half" job and that takes MAJOR "commitment" on your part. My 2 cents; if you're gonna do an LS swap, don't bother with the LS1 and use the LS7 or LS9.

the front bay of a civic isnt large enough for an ls?

it would be an extremely tight fight if it worked. better idea to mount it behind the front seats and convert it to rwd.

you mount it inline to the drivetrain....?

edit: hmm, i wonder where the tranny would go.

i guess you would have to push the firewall/interior back a bit.

you will have trouble getting anything that runs on CAN to still work, like the stock gauges

ATM, the cheapest I've seen an LS7 crate engine go for is a little over 10k. You can get an LS1 for dirt cheap and an LS2 for not much more. For the money you save, you can spend in mods or actually installing.

Also, Hinson charges 10k for the swap, you supply engine and tranny. I've asked

All of the GM V8s are a tough squeeze to fit in the 3rd gen RX7 while much easier in the 2nd gen version. It would be a super hack job to put into an RX8, hence the reason we haven't seen that swap.

Get a Vette. It's no longer an RX8 once you remove the rotary.

Didn't you pay attention? He already has a bad *** vette. He likes the car but wants more power!!!! Its gonna be one hell of a job to drop a LSx in there, tho.
