You're awesome, rgonza!!! Since you're going turbo, you'll be able to run smaller cast iron exhaust manifolds that will help with the fitment instead of headers. Are you planning on putting the turbos up top, under the car like an APS, or remote in the rear like STS?

Oh, and look out all you haters. I'm just guessing here, but I'd get prepared to see the fastest, most powerful street RX8 on the planet... with a turbocharged iron block OHV bowtie V8. Hell yah!!! I love it!!!
YEAH CHEBBY FTW!11!!1 IT COMES FROM GOD!11!! @#$%^&*GEWKJFWHEKLHLEQ

*HIGH FIVES* WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Seriously though, look forward to seeing the results.

dude--what do you think this is going to do to the chassis.
will the diff handle this(well over 600hp/torque)
what trans(automatic?)
the engine will have to set more forward than the renny--no doubt.
dry sump on the oil system--right?
throwing the ls into the rx7 did not upset the chassis balance that much because the engine in that chassis were father away from the driver and higher off the ground
abs will be gone --correct? will you have to reposition the master cynlinder (heat issue?)
you have to reinforce the sub frame for that type of power --right? and how the hell will the trans be mounted?
head is spinning --must set down

rgonza, where are you going to fit the turbos? What turbos are you using? Are you going to run some sort of blower cam? Compression ratio? Type of heads?

I'm a big fan of doing this... so is 05rex8. He seems to be more excited about it than I am.

rofl...just picking on ya cuz your a hardcore chevy guy on a rx8 forum.

I do have an interest really. It's cool to see something that has not been done before. Would I want it for mine? No. It's not an rx8 anymore without a rotary for a heart. Still cool though and props for it.

I've been wanting to do an Ls-xxx swap ever since my 3rd engine died, keep us posted and if I ever go down that road I'll be bugging the crap out of you with questions. Good luck, I can't wait to see the finished project.

Hi Cmr333, the supra tt rack input fit perfely in rx8 eps, no mod needed on supra tt tie rods, the rack is in original position to keep links geometrics and it's under engine with a 1.5" of clearence.

then that steering rack solves a LOT of probs!! I didnt realize your 3 rotor was putting out that much power. So you have the platform--its just comes down to fitment. Sweet.
If you can package a swap over kit---you may have something real. ( Even with an automatic
I take it hood clearance is not a prob then and the engine will be further up front.
est weight distribution?
how do you handle the saddleback tank in regard to fuel starvation issues? Two pumps? Sump tank?

Even with MT DR 345s on the back, you're not going to be able to put 1200rwhp to the ground. Still funny to see this kind of stuff though No point in having an RX-8 except for having a rotary in it. For the price of all this work you're doing, you could just get a Z06 and turbocharge it. Better looking, better handling, and you'll own a piece of history.

Who cares if it burn the tires off in fourth at 100mph. Sounds fun to me.

And I think you're missing the point. These guys throw 20b's at Mustangs for ***** and giggles. Nobody will have a car like this when he's done. Nobody.

The C6 Z06 is an amazing car, but they're not ultra rare anymore... I ran into a black turbo C6 Z06 on the road just the other day. Not rare.

Who cares? You don't build a car from the FRONT to the BACK, you build it from the BACK to the FRONT. You start with making sure your car is capable of using all the power that you plan on putting into it. Having a car that burns the tires in fourth is asking for a blown diff or other issues. If losing control of your car going 100mph sounds like fun to you, you're an idiot.

And no, I'm not missing the point. Nobody would WANT a care like that when he's done, because it's not going to be reliable and will NOT be a good daily driver. Don't talk if you don't know what you're talking about. And as for putting 20b's in a mustang - who cares? It's just a hobby to them, pit a GT500KR against the 20B mustang and see who wins.

And the Z06 being rare - when did I say rare? Regardless of me NOT saying "rare", that is an opinion word and each person has their own interpretation as to what constitutes a specific car being "rare". I said own a piece of history. If it's the last run for the corvette, it'll also mean it's the last of the Z06. So learn to read you nutjob.

Rgonza obviously has experience with weight ratios and torque specs, to assume there has not been planning involved is a simple misconception.

Cant wait to see progress, or at least the finished product!

It's still pointless, only good as a project car & will never be good on the street. I am 100% confident, and would bet the farm, that a 700rwhp awd wrx sti could slaughter the car he's building. And on the track - I'd be willing to bet my car would be faster because he will not be able to hook that much power up.
