Just realized you were the one to answer the questions I posted on ls1tech.com Kinda strange to see someone actually come through with what they claim on forums! |
Getting excited yet?:)
|
Can you post a link to the thread, I didn't find it.

sweet, sounds good. i'd rather have a corvette engine in the car than a 30hp wankel that bursts in half at 30k miles.

ALL part going to srcap yard this weekend! Please let me know ASAP if you want any of that "stuff".
PS. I also have the mass air flow sensor/box. |
Nothing cool but its a video for those who asked for one.
|
laughter---you worked hard for it! Enjoy!
Looked like it steered just fine too:0 |
nice, how about emissions testing and stuff? do the mechanics still hookup to the same OBDII? or do they have to connect somewhere else? what about the speedometer?
|
Stand alone harness for the ls1 so enmissions would most likely plug in to that harness' obdII.
Mdoffroad what did you do for speedometer without abs? |

Mdoffroad what did you do for speedometer without abs? Correct, I have all emission through the OBDII port wiring. For the speed sensor I just used the speed sensor from the LS1 ECM due to it have in that information available through the transmission speed sensor. |

Not to the RX8 OBDII port but the LS1 OBDII port. You could tie them all into the RX8 port if you wanted to but I have mine under the hood at this time. |

Interesting I always thought that the RX8 got it's speed readings from the abs module. How would using the LS1 ecm show you the speed on the RX8 gauge though? Like how is it wired specifically?
|
This is awesome! mdoffroad ; youre a wealth of knowledge!
|
Did you run a t56 or mate the stock 6 speed?

The RX8 speedometer is nothing but a digital gauge that read a pulse. The LS1 also reads a pulse. Tie the LS1 pulse into the same wire that goes to the RX8 speedometer and yes you can find that wire tied into the ABS system…. I think it was a solid green wire but not sure.
So I guess get that G/R wire from the abs connector then connect the t56 VSS sensor to that and let the rx8 PCM do it's job (is that what you did?) Also what's up with the speed sensor wire in the Audio head unit, has the signal in that wire been translated by the PCM? What is the point of this wire though? A nav system should calculate speed via distance/time. Link for reference of Audio Head Unit wire: https://www.rx8club.com/attachments/...ation-wire-jpg https://www.rx8club.com/attachments/...ions-radio-jpg P.S. any chance you can post the word file on your swap in a public google document? I've sent you an email as you mentioned on post #1 with no reply. |
