LS2 Build
what is wrong with a carb'ed engine. Heck i LOVE carbed engines for the street/strip. Not so much for a road course.
The s1 model rear diff is a 4:44.
If you ever do a diff swap--a lot of people are now using the Ford explorer's.
But--just to clarify things what power level is the builder looking to get?
To low of a diff and he will be cruising at 70 mph at well over 3K rpm.
By the way Texas Speed FTW!

Coilovers because you have camber from springs? Yea might want to rethink that.
PS quit putting personal details like you took 21 hours.
yep, if people heard a stock ls2 in an Rx8 they'll go "wow cool
". If they hear a nasty cammed ls2 they'll go "WTF just happened?!
"[/QUOTE
You're killing me, haha... It's what I intend to do.
I have to be realistic unfortunately. I've gotta get some coilovers first. The shocks need to be replaced and I'm tired of lowering springs causing my camber to eat through my tires.
Like OD said, once you start, You never stop. I'm fine with that, which is why I waited through school (busted my *** to graduate, 21 hours last semester ) and the obvious strapped for cash phase of my life. now im closer to it being a reality than ever.
The parts list keeps growing, but for now I'm trying to buy parts starting by importance (after the conversion, of course)
Think it's obvious I need bigger shoes, too.
thanks for your 2 cents, but you dont say why I should rethink it beyond the camber. The suspension pieces are 5 years old with over 80k miles on them- if thats not reason enough for you to fix them, coilovers are adjustable too. It makes much more sense than a basic shock and spring setup.

I'm not saying they aren't awesome. I'm saying they aren't going to fix an alignment problem. It makes more sense if you are very picky about ride height or go to the track. For 95% of people, koni struts are more than sufficient. Do what you want but I'd rather have an extra grand to spend on engine mods while it is out of the car.

That was an iron block too. It could have been done right, but it would have cost a lot more than this guy put into it I.E. alum block, webers, proper suspension. Makes me think a 347 SBF could do here as well... and be more compact, but yeah back to the LSX swap.
heres the engine bay you want
go pokes.
just waiting on a few more parts for the miata and then we will start putting that together. the miata has a timeline of 2 weeks for it to be done. The miata has to be at show on july 21st. im hoping i can have the motor set in the rx8 for the same show so we can show it off there too.
thats fine with me. we are pretty much like that now and i am really the only shop in texas that does this kind of swaps daily. plus i also offer pick up and delivery service for turnkey swaps too that are anywhere in texas
Lol I have the car but got nothing for it yet. Like I said before it's at least a few weeks out before I get it torn Down. I'm doing a 2j swap on a sc300, a Miata ls2 swap, and an ls swap on a 91 Camaro. Give me some time guys I promise I'll stay on top of this for ya
