Good idea, thanks! The door handle now is a bit difficult to get to now due to the cage, a single cable would be much easier.

it was Allan Cross's idea that used.

Starting to attach the subframe to the chassis.

Had to do some very acrobatic welds

Tied into cage...this was a little difficult because I originally designed the cage to connect to the factory chassis back there.

LotsO' bracing. Need to build a complete model for FEA, but have a lot to learn before I can get there.

More bracing....the aero will also integrate through the trunk into this section...not sure exactly how yet.

Something like that

SendCutSend.com for all my brackets....way better than cutting with an angle grinder

Camaro differential! It is almost half the weight of the RX8 differential!!!

My super stiff coilovers

Tried a 12mm backspace, but its too much...need about a 35mm.

Doesn't fit where I want...tough decision

Mock and tack

Got a mile to spare

Mockup

More mockup!

Cut the front off...102 lbs for the frame related items...should save about 30 pounds with my new setup.

Plasma cutting the passenger side door

Lots and lots of measuring

Steering rack mount

Steering rack with all the current bracing. FEA will determine weakness at a later time.

Got a trophy case, and won my first event this year (the glass).

Printed some bushings for mockup. PLA has very similar Tensile, Flexural, and Compressive strengths, however PLA's durability, wear factor, and coefficient of friction are not quite up to the task.

Steering rack, and front sway bars are in. Mockup UCA mounts and steering rack tie rods are in for now. Plan is to make my own spherical bearings for the the control arms.

Rear sway bar mount...its a factory rear sway bar off of my 86.

Removed 5 more pounds out of each front door and 15lbs out of each rear door.

Made an adapter for my shop vac

Prototype Quick Connect steering adapter. Going to print out of PLA for now.

I'm in the same boat as you, I have a 2001 mustang V6 begging to be put in mine. Just not sure it would be worth the trouble
