LSXREX was talking **** about rotaries in general, not just the Renesis. I will likely run times similar to your big turbo REW. That is my goal anyway, we shall see how the switch of ECU's and E85 goes. If not then I use the top mount kit I have and go EFR. Either way it will be on a renny no matter what.

As for talking ****, you talk a lot for a guy running a best of 12.7's on drag radials, All that HP and you are barely faster than a "turdbo renny" running a 60-1. Now that is amusing to me.

I made myself pretty clear on my stance on rotaries. I wasn't challenging them all. Rotary's reputation isn't very good. Only a few last year at TX2K and they were barely quick enough to be third string camera cars. You made things personal talking so much **** op about the car. I'm looking to show you where a garage built LS swap (that works) falls in line in front of your roturd. Beating you would just be a bonus. I guess I can play the 9k card. "If I win then I beat the prettiest RX8 in the world. And if I lose well then I'll just come back with a 125 wet shot and radials."

If you can't take the ribbing then I suggest the PurelyRX8 group on FB, they will tell you how great your RX-8 is all day long. As for who is faster, well that is to be determined.

I'm starting to think some people need to be excluded from accessing this particular section of the forum for constant negativity ... last I checked this section of the forum is for people who want to swap whatever the hell they desire into their car.

Is it a smart swap - who cares
will it be successful - who cares
is motor x better than a rotary - who cares
intellectual discussion and progress - this is what matters

If you can't fathom the idea that there are individuals out there who just dont care for the rotary engine, then this is not the section for you, its that simple. No one is forcing anyone to remain active in this section of the forum.

edit: to clarify, the bashing of swaps is fine and dandy, but we are getting awful close to personal attacks (at least in my opinion) and maybe even a hint of street racing ('rolling' on people). Now get some damn pics up

 

I would say it isn't personal considering I haven't even met anyone here. Let's clear the air here with Mr. LSXREX. I don't hate people who own rotaries. Actually I wish more of my friends owned them so I could give them **** about it. I don't even hate the rotary that much. It's a very interested design and definately has its uses. Rotary engines will always be in the backseat when even compared with the worst piston motors. I'll pipe down about the rotary hatred everywhere except this thread. But that doesn't mean I don't want to roll 9k's ***. Only bc he is local and seems to be the head honcho when it comes to rotaries. Who knows maybe we will have a beer after. Lol? How about we put something on the line 9k? If you lose, you have to introduce EVERY piston swap thread with your love for piston goodness, blah blah blah. I'll write something up for ya. And if I lose? Well you can fill in the blank on that one.

Dammit man that was a try at an apology. Every time I get "hostile" people get their feelings hurt and I get banned. These rotary guys really take digs at their motors personally. I began to lose interest after the discussion turned to high 12 second times from turbo cars. I've been faster in a full weight, bolt on, f boat on street tires.

 

Personally I think this thread is a great idea. And I don't hate swaps. I think kickerfox's is hilarious. The VR6 one might just take the cake though, we shall see. But if either get finished properly I will be the first to give props. I'm not holding my breath though.


Oh and rolling an LS swap RX-8 would be wonderful. I hope I get to try. If I fail I will catch a ton of **** from my rotary hating friends.

 

I'm definately down to run 9k. I'm in Austin. I gotta do a shakedown T&T night though, I seriously can't keep this ****** straight. The 60' is gonna be minutes

Trash talk about a car/build/etc is fine; not about a person. This is the last warning before I start moderating this thread with a heavy hand.

 

To be clear, I didn't. I just said it was a probable excuse that you might use to avoid showing up to the race. Doesn't have to be true! (would be better if it wasn't, I wouldn't wish sickness on any kid)
