Given the condition of your car I highly doubt that is the only issue with the body.

Also considering you are at stock height I can only assume you haven't upgraded the suspension. Nor have you upgraded the brakes, or tires, or really anything. You have all this power and nothing to back it up.

I am not a huge fan of the rotary, but I would have swapped in a reman and spent the rest of my money on upgrading the supporting elements of the car.

I got plenty of power with the S4, going to keep the 8 NA for a season or two. Then I might venture into FI land again.

 

Yeah body wasnt mint but finding a good condition S1 is vetting hard with all the kids buying them up. I wont do anything with the body and let the next owner do what they want to it. And on the suspension.and brakes. Im not building a race car. The brakes and suspension are terrific for a stock car and obviously what makes the RX8 such an awesome car. I wont do anything to those parts as they are adequate for what i want ro do with it. I dont like mint condition cars anyway bc they are too stressful. Always washing/waxing and parking at the very back (if you decide to drive it at all). And 200 lets not get too personal. Im not sure of your background but mine includes bringing alot of hostility to someones area. Not a threat. Just making that clear. When you guys are talking about hostility, i see it as nothing more than a strong discussion.

Yeah every Army guy I meet was Special Forces, Every Marine and Sailor was MARSOC, etc. It was pretty funny when I was at Little Creek in VA, I would go to a party and everyone was a seal, .

I don't think you understand. You are doubling horsepower and torque, in a chassis that is not designed for it.

This has nothing to do with racing, this has to do with upgrading a portion of a machine while leaving the rest untouched.

This would be like installing a new engine on a lawnmower with a dull blade, hoping to cut grass.

Not a seal. Know a few though. I'm well aware of what the engine swap is going to "do" to the RX8. I don't agree though. I had a 93 with an LS2 and it had completely stock suspension and brakes. The RX8 is better in every way than an RX7 so Im pretty sure it will be just fine with this motor.

 

It sounds like you just don't care about how the car rides at all then. Its not a particularly good looking car, so why even bother with the swap?

 

That's always what it has been about

 

The stock ride is fine. It isn't bad looking. Just a stock car. Helps with the sleeper'ness. I'm just gonna wetland all the trash out of the top layer of paint, give it a good buff and drive it. Street cars barely explore the limits of the stock suspension so I can't justify full suspension. I bought the car the way it sits with a busted motor.
