2ZZGE Swap

Hi I'm new here, I have automobile experience I've rebuilt engines and etc before I'm just looking to see if anyone has attempted the RX8 2ZZGE swap, I have one with a 6 Speed box and happen to have a 2006 Rx8 she'll I bought off line for a project but I may just put the ZZ in since I have it. Thanks!

All I could find was engine spec comparisons and arguments, idk if anyone has done this swap yet, I know it's not a super powerful engine but I'm just gonna attempt it since my wife likes the look of the car and the ZZ is better on gas then just buying another renesis.

I moved your thread to the engine swap subforum. Go to the top of this page where it says:
RX8Club.com > Frankenstein RX-8s > Frankenstein RX-8s
And click the last link on the right. Browse through what people have done.

All swaps have the exact same challenges though. You have to physically fit the engine in, often requiring firewall fabrication of some sort (Either for the engine, the transmission, and/or the exhaust), fabrication to relocate the steering rack (which usually has other complications), custom exhaust, custom driveshaft, custom powerplant frame, custom motor mounts, custom cooling system (for oil and coolant), etc... Once you have it physically installed, you then need to figure out the electronics of having an alternate ECU run the engine (because the RX-8's ECU won't), without turning the rest of the car's electronics into a nightmare hack job (since the RX-8's ECU is integrated with literally every electronic component in the car, from door locks to the wheel hubs to the radio).

So it pretty much doesn't matter what engine you choose, you have significant challenges that are basically the same challenges as everyone else faces.

I believe there are several swaps from Pakastan that might interest you, though keep in mind that they appear to have just hacked through all the electronic problems with a pair of wire cutters and a heavy dose of apathy to the results.
