Angry Wierd problem (NEED HELP)

So I took my 8 to the dealership to find out why it was shifting so hard. They told me that it was the inhibitor switch. So I bought it and replaced it this morning. Everything was working find till after I replaced it. All I did was disconnect the positive battery cable, lift the car up, replace the switch, lower the car back down, reconnect the battery cable. When I started it back up after replacing the switch everything was fine shifted smooth again everything. I drove it about a mile down the road to my work parked it and the car was running perfect and shut it off. I came back out about 10 mins later started the car and the check engine light was on and so was the power steering malfunctioning light. So I disconnected the negative battery cable and let it sit for about 1 hour thinking maybe it needed to adjust it's self to the new switch. I hooked the cable back up and both check engine light and power steering malfunctioning light were off. I thought it was fixed so I turned the car off. Turned it back on about 5 mins later and they were back on. I have no idea what is wrong none of this was happening before I changed the switch. The car runs 100% fine when both of the lights are off. Anybody have any idea what's going on?? Btw it's a 2004.
