what's wrong with this coil?

hi guys,

today I was changing my coils to the BHR kit, and one of the old coils looks totally different than the others - the other 3 have the expected white spot at the back, but the one (btw. it's the T2, i.e. the last in the rear) looks kinda weird - should I be worried because of this? (i.e. overheating or something similar?)

on the left the weird

detail

mfg codes, th weird one is NGK

btw. I had two of the coils with the NGK manufacturer code, and two of the others, unfortunately don't remember their positions (except that the weird one was at the back)

I am not sure that there is anything wrong with it - it's got a nice healthy even color.

Basically the potting resin doesn’t have the same colour pigment as the original;
but it is branded NGK and is probably a replacement part, not a genuine OEM.
Whether it’s a genuine NGK, well that’s another question - that I can’t answer;
But the colour difference in the resin is nothing to be alarmed about.

Take your new BHR kit for a spin, and forget all about the nasty coil.

Regards Tony

great, I was afraid that heat or something else "melted" the coil (never thought they also make them translucent)

thanks
