NY '05 RX8 - need help

Just got my '05 RX8. I was told the car was sitting for a while, so had the oil and filters changed. The car was checked out and it is dry no leaks, HOWEVER, when i first start the car i smell like something is burning off and if i punch it hard get the smell inside the cabin. was told that i need to ride it out. Any insights would be appreciated? Also if anyone can recommend a mechanic in NY around queens area that knows about RX8 would be appreciated

What kind of burning? Electrical, oil, or maybe it smells like rotten eggs?

Mileage?
Transmission?

How long have you been driving the car? Could be nothing, or it could be burning too much oil? That's all I got.

Driver her hard a few times on open roads, red line a few times.

Mine did the same when i let her sit for 3 weeks. It could be the fuel left in chambers that needs to burn off, + the carbon.

If it just smells like oil burning, I'd wait for a week. Happened to me when I let my car sit for a while and it eventually went away.
