What can I do to my 09 r3 to get it faster
I have had my 09 r3 for about a year now I've been saving up to put into the car. What I really want to know is, how can I make my 8 faster I've got a cold air intake already I'm barely starting to put anything into her. Would it be possible to get her to around 500 hp or am I dreaming? What would be the max hp I could get without blowing my engine? It's standard transmission, I've read about greddy turbos but I need to know what's best to gain more ponies without having any major damage to my baby. Any help would be greatly appreciated please thanks!

The power section is the first section. Explains what mods do what to the RX-8, and why.

engine swap is the only way your getting 500hp from an 8. you need to read the major hp section till your eyes bleed and prepare to get *** raped for asking this question

Ha I'm prepared to get *** raped I've been doing some research and I know from the sound of everything it will be hell but in the end well worth it. Thanks RIWWP I'm looking over all the links right now

Hey there are ways to make it a little faster, but not significantly faster unless you are prepared to spend oodles of money and throw away any remaining engine warranty. That engine warranty alone could save you between $3500-6000 for a new or rebuilt engine in the end if needed. So for your budget, figure the costs of any significant hp upgrade mods and be prepared to add in the costs for a new engine along the way , which is a real possibility. Read the stickies and decide what makes sense for you and your wallet. Good luck to you.

I'm in the same boat my friend. Engine swap seems to be the only way to make "reliable" power in that range. 13brew seems to be the most proven popular way to get to 500hp. The Renesis is a better N/A rotary, but just won't hold up to boost. Trying to make a decent estimate, I'd guess a shop would charge around $10k upfront and need up to another $5k for unexpected requirements.

Best and cheapest way is to drop dead weight ie. Seats convert the windows to the old hand crank get rid of moon roof and drive motor any thing that is unused or unwanted. On the drag strip every 100lbs is 1/10 of a second.
