OK, thanks. I've posted in this section for now. In case a mod feels it should be placed somewhere more appropriate (ie. Series I Tech Garage) please do so.

Not sure what is wrong but I have 40+ posts, been a member since 2006, have a 6 trader score and created a topic in the past. However, the forum is only listing my post count as 2 and I cannot create topics anymore

Hey guys, I just got my RX8 a few months ago. I'm a huge fan of rotary engines and have been lurking for the better part of two years so I decided I may as well post now that I actually have an 8! I got a used black 07 Gt with some stuff already done to it. Right now I'm waiting for some suspension stuff to arrive so I can swap that in. Really glad to be a part of the RX8 community!
I think I included an attachment of a picture of my car, hopefully I used the attachment tool right haha

Nu bee

Sup fellas, Bought my RX recently and have been a long time fan of Rotary engines and high RPM vehicles in general. Am looking to learn everything possible about preventative maintenance and care for Natasha. (so my wife calls it XD) I am most interested first and foremost in the use of two-stroke premix. I will be reading up on the threads more about this.

(owned a few motorcycles in the past on being a CR125 honda 2 stroke. So I am familiar with premix)

as long as you take the time to sit down and read the posts, you'll most likely end up learning more than you'll ever want to know. Sad thing is there's still even more that you DON'T know thats still here on the forums. Just gotta read, and use google search with "rx8club" before whatever you're looking for. Helped me out a bunch.

I have been a member for a long time and all of my post counts were removed. I don't understand why that has happened.

I see 29 posts made by you, all but 3 were in the MW regional forums, which don't count toward credit for the restriction release.

Either get 7 more posts in through normal participation, or PM Zoom44 to ask for it to be manually released.

Total newbie!!!

Hey, so i am completely new to forums in general. I need some help with the basics. I am looking around at RX8's and have fallen for one (my profile picture) I used to build old muscle cars but love the rotary motors and styling of the 8's. A couple of things i need help to figure out...
1. How the heck do i post a thread? (embarrassing ... nooob i know)
2. I'm not looking to seriously mod my 8 but a good friend told me a good intake and full exhaust is all i should do to insure reliability and still have a good time.
3. Do i need adjustable/better springs/strut bars or subframe stiffening? I may build mainly muscle cars, but i love me some curves
4. The 8 I'm interested in is an '04, I've heard that they have an issue with the electrical power stearing going outand is extremely expensive. Just want to know if this is a regular occurrence or not.

Welcome to RX8Club
1. At the beginning of a sub-forum, there is a oval button that says "New Thread". Click on that. As a noob, you will only be able to create new threads in the New Member forum. This is until your post count is greater than 10 and you have been a member for over a month. To figure things out start reading this. (click) https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...thread-242295/

2. & 3. (click) https://www.rx8club.com/new-member-f...rx-8-a-233937/

4. The 2004 - 2008 are essentially the same car. The biggest problem is the electrical connections become corroded. I have had the problem twice in 10 yrs. When you have a problem the steering gets stiff, but the car is still drivable. I disconnected/reconnected them and the problem was resolved. Others have had to go to more extreme measures. One of the reasons for the failure is the coolant overflow tank drain hose is pointed at those connectors. Simply putting on a longer hose can help with the problem. These electrical connectors, and there are 2 of them, are located below the air intake box and are easily accessible. Tools required: Phillips Screwdriver and 10mm socket/wrench.

Just wanted to say Hi and congrats on an AWESOME forum! I've had my '05 series 1 stock bought with less than 50,000k's for about 3 months now and pretty much every problem listed for these in your FAQ has happened, once I found it the first time for the clutch issues that started a couple days after I got her (now replaced) I've come straight back to check if the next issue's on the list (sure enough it is) and what to do, fantastic 'one-stop-shop! Got new gaskets for the rear tail lights on the way, figuring out the ignition coils now, just about to go replace the battery and top up the oil again then the fun bit- redline it for the carbon build-up haha!

Hey guys. Just picked up the RX8 on Saturday, and already in love. Wasn't planning on buying one, but found this one for an absolute steal, and couldn't say no. Might turn out to be the best mistake I ever made.

Not looking at modding it. Yet. But we all know how that ends.

This forum is absolutely awesome from a maintenance point of view. Unless you ask about oil.

Welcome , there is a lot of great information here. There is also a lot of know how here and also a few sharks if you get my drift. On the intake stuff be sure you leave the screens on the intake before and after the mass air flow sensor. Your friend was partly correct on the intake and exhaust. Don't for get the screens and you should not get a CEL. Best of luck the rx8 is a lot of fun and a chanlange unlike any other car. My electric steering is still good at 84,000 mile. 2004 automatic.
