Welcome

Welcome to our new members. Glad you found your way to our little corner of the Mazda Rotary World.

This forum is for our new members to use to get acquainted with the forum and post new threads when they have questions. This is a no flame zone. In other areas of the forums you will find that you can post in existing threads but can not create new threads. You can for example post in the vendor forums, regional forums and classifieds to name a few.

After a certain amount of time and posts you will automatically be promoted to a regular member and be able to post new threads etc in the rest of the forum. For now take a look around at the stickies here and elsewhere. Also search is available to you throughout the forums for when a sticky doesnt cover what you are looking for.

Welcome,

Zoom, I would recommend that you link the following in your first post, as this grows its doubtful new members will read this in its entirety to as long as they are in the first post it will mean more will actually see it and follow

https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...t-here-202454/
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...rx-8-a-233937/

And advise that 99.9% of all Q/A is done here, to limit the amount of redundant new threads and retain order and ogranization
https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...llowed-208221/

Again welcome, and goodluck

I will be keeping a close eye on this forum

As a side note, I'd rather move the dumb Q+A thread back to Tech, rather than here. It's somewhat redundant to this subforum, and often doesn't really relate to new owner questions. Plenty of established members have had questions there. I did move the new owner Q+A thread into this subforum, which was originally just the response set from the new owner info thread, so there is still a go-to new owner specific Q+A thread in here if they don't want to create a new one.

Any objections?

Welcome,
Wealth of information here.
Be sure to ask plenty of questions about oil type and pre-mixing.
Guys love that stuff.

^He's trying to cause trouble for you. There's plenty of information out there already. It's been discussed ad nauseum.

I thought the emoticon would make it obvious.

Mazda is better known for making trucks but they made this car and that is truly awesome. You can also spot it in the NFS game i.e.most wanted. I love that car..that cute little design but sheer power under the hood is awesome. So i am here to join this community.

Interesting. I'm guessing you aren't from the US? Most people here don't even know that Mazda ever made a truck. Even the B Series isn't really a Mazda, as it's really just a rebadged Ford Ranger. Their last truck that was actually a Mazda was the REPU I think. Granted, they started with 3 wheeled trucks in 1936, but still, that's been a while

I would appear that flaming as well as sarcasm etc is well and alive here. I wwould advise newbies to be ware of what and how you post. The rules are sliced very thin here.

Sarcasm is alive and well. I practice it regularly. The problem being, it doesn't come across well in print. An smiley/emoticon is necessary to denote it.

We all need to read and practice the "User Conduct" rules again because I believe the "User Conduct" is largely being ignored by all. especially where newbies are concerned.

I joined this site a week or so before the "new members' stuff went live. Trying to learn the forum rules/guidelines was a lot to absorb, but adding this change in a week or so later really threw me for a loop.

I understand the need for this, but I guess my poor sign-up timing made the transition rough for me.

That aside, I'm glad you guys are still trying to make updates/improvements even after the RX-8 has been discontinued.

Hi, agreed. Maybe it's time to start a rumour about an upcoming RX9????? Lol.

Hopefully a new rotary RX-# will come out soon.
Just hope it won't be +$50k, which I'm fairly certain it will be.
New members are indeed welcome, as attrition may whittle our numbers as time goes by.
