I was wondering if there is any in depth DIY for replacing the water pump and thermostat on a 2005 8?

Thanks for the quick response! I will definitely favorite that link. Also, i am replacing the water pump and thermostat anyway but my 8 has been overheating. I have my OBDII scanner hooked up and the temp will keep rising, i dont let it get above 210 but it has gotten up to 215 before. I just changed the coolant a week ago. It is a 2005 AT Rx8. 68800 miles. Do you think changing the thermostat will fix this problem? I was also contemplating about getting a larger radiator from BHR.

 

I would get really familiar with Searching as all of this has been covered over and over for years. You're at the point were a complete cooling system overhaul is in order.

I do that already. There are just a lot of unrelated stuff that pops up thanks though.

 

You must not be doing it right. People here are a little unwilling to spoon feed people answers that have been discussed and documented Ad nauseum. Probably why no one else has chimed in. I'm just in a good mood
