Thermal pellet stuck in e-shaft

Thermal pellet stuck in e-shaft

Is there a reason why this could happen. There is very minor scoring where the thermal pellet is supposed to sit. Has this happened to anyone else? If so how did you go upon remedying the issue? I have the Atkins pellet to replace the oem one. I just want to know if I just drop the new pellet in there will there be any issues?

It depends. Just replace the eshaft, it's not that big of a deal. And I would just use OEM stuff, changing the thermal pellet does nothing beneficial.

If a thermal pellet were to get stuck what could be the outcome of that engine?

Typically...the rotor temps increase dramatically and cause oil control o-ring failure. This then allows engine oil to enter the combustion chamber and excessive smoking/consumption to occur.

ok thanks for that. One other question. If I had gotten my rotating assembly balanced and replaced the e-shaft after it was balanced would there be any problems with the balance of the motor? I would think not since there are different weight codes with rotors but only one e-shaft. Is this true? If there won’t be any issues than I’ll just buy a good e-shaft. If there is then I would have to get it balanced again correct?

Well the balancing could be off. What effects it has on engine longevity is unknown.
