S2 Owner Needs Help desperately, Mysteries issue,

Oil level light Issue S2 RX8

Flashes with code P1684 and P1685 with low and high OMP oil pressure, ALL OMP System is replaced except the engine oil pump itself and PCM.

Flashes with code P1684 and P1685 with low and high oil pressure, ALL OMP System is replaced except the oil pump itself and PCM.

No check eng. light, No misfires, no oil leaks, no power issue, drives good, did a full track day without problems. It seems like it only comes on with extreme light load, light throttle, and higher than 4000 RPM situations. Happened after Mazda replaced reman engine about 2 years ago based on the previous owner, they had to warranty the engine twice after immediate replacement stating the same code and issue, but 3 engine replacement doesn’t seems like it fix the issue.

Symptoms: While above 4000 RPM, if only a very light amount of throttle is applied, e.g. doing like 54MPH in 4th gear at around 4000 RPM with a very very very light throttle. The OMP Pressure slowly drops to zero.

Secondly there was one time I was doing a top speed run sort of thing it came on at 125MPH with a flashing light and saying OMP pressure is high reading over 30PSI.

I spent over 3g now diagnosing at the dealer and replacing all the OMP parts with no results

Same problem

Hi,

I have a s2 and had a low oil flashing light, checked OBD and came up with p1685 fault, high oil pressure. Have just replaced oil pressure sensor and OCV last night. Start car up and after about 5 min while idling light comes on, don’t know where to go from here. Thinking it could be oil pump or oil control valve, I am a bit lost as to what is causing this. An help would be good.

thanks
