RHD greddy turbo kit for LHD compatible?
So after some reading up it seems a few members have swapped a greddy turbo kit meant for a LHD rx8 by modifying the pipes. By that logic a rhd greddy turbo kit should fit on a LHD rx8 then right since as far as I know the only major difference would be the piping trying to maneuver around the steering linkage. If anyone has thoughts on this or any complications this swap might encounter your feedback would be great. Asking mainly since I have received an email from rhdjapan stating that the kit is in back order but can still be ordered with a shop date some times around November. The kit is also only $3.6k

Ok that’s what I thought too. The only thing different I could think of is the piping for the rhd kit having to go around the steering linkage but since I’m putting it on a LHD rx8 there is no linkage there so in Theory the rhd kit should bolt right up like normal. Thanks for the input.

Well some more useful info for anyone else looking to get a greddy turbo kit still for their cars since I didn’t know there was a rhd version of the kit still available for special order
“The main reason for our kit being listed for the RHD vehicles is that it comes from Japan and is mede for their JDM vehicles, and will clear the steering rack on the RHD vehicles, There is mention on the internet that there was a kit made for LHD vehicles that would not clear the steering rack on a RHD car if it was used, however I believe this is probably more of a urban legend, as i cannot see why GReddy would have designed 2 different kits when the RHD kit would fit both.
That said you should have no issues to my knowledge fitting this kit to a LHD vehicle we have installed several of these kits at our workshop and run one on my own RX-8, in my experience the fact it is fitting to a LHD RX-8 should not be an issue. Please remember this is my opinion and I may wrong in some small way, however i am pretty confident it should not be an issue.
If you need any more information please let me know.
On a ide note we would recommend using an Adaptronic Plug in Modular RX-8 ECU to tune your new setup.”
That was the email sent to me by Essex rotary in the UK
