At least give some good pictures of both! I've always wanted to turn my 08 into a real Anni edition, white outside and red inside. Though I won't really do this, I like to think about it..

Generally, I avoid black interiors. They’re hotter in summer and, visually, far less interesting. When I open the door of a car with a lighter interior I “see” the seats and lines and shapes better, as opposed to with a black interior, which just kinda... disappears. Another car with a dark, generic, black blob of an interior. I find them largely forgettable, because I don’t really notice them in the first place.

Just my two cents.

The regular black interior you posted is not the regular interior but the R3 interior with Recaro seats.

Anyway the best looking I think would be black door cards and 08 Anniversary seats, or black door cards with 05 Shinka seats. If I was getting an RX-8 to keep long term I would put S2 black cloth seats in it though, because I don't like leather and they are better looking than the S1 cloth seats.

If you were looking for drama, we have several synthetic vs. mineral oil discussions. Civilization-ending stuff.

yes OP did have both interiors wrong..... ps the R3 interior is black/grey not black/black

While I agree S2 seats look slightly better there are very minor changes between S1 and S2 seats, most notably is that S2 doesn't have the plastic airbag cover

My S2 has red interior and I like it. It's like the 40th Anni colour, but without all the black patches on the leather parts.

But then again, interior is whatever to me when I buy a used car. Engine compression is gonna be a far greater factor. Switching seats out are much easier and cheaper than switching an engine out.
