AL Question about RX8 clutch

Hey guys so just a quick question... the other day I took my rx8 to a big lot and was playing around a little bit (drifting) and I think I may have put too much strain on my clutch... it will no longer disengage upon pushing the clutch pedal in... as unhealthy as I know it is, I forced it into 1st and floated gears all the way home... all gears still work properly as far as pulling the car goes... I've got no fluids dripping or leaking from anywhere... I believe I'm looking at a slave cylinder issue. Any easy ways to confirm this suspicion before I just start ordering parts? Thanks in advance and a Merry Christmas to all!!

You can try bleeding the clutch line first, to see if you get air, and if that temporarily fixes it. If it does, but get worse again over time, then it's the hydraulics (slave or master). If it doesn't, then you'll need to get the trans off to see what's going on with the clutch.

Thanks, I just put a brand new clutch in it so I'm really hoping nothings wrong with that, I'll try bleeding it. everything works just fine besides the clutch engagement. The pedal has absolutely no resistance, it'll come back up on its own though

You may have a slightly loose bleeder screw on the slave.... like Loki said... try and bleed it first and see what happens

Could be master or slave.. or a leaking hose or bleeder, or the notorious clutch pedal bracket...not much else to go wrong

The plot thickens. What clutch did you put in?

If it has no resistance but still comes back on its own, I might change my prognosis to failed pressure plate diaphragm or throwout bearing due to dorifto. Especially if it's on the cheap side.

But bleed it first anyway.

I had a OEM clutch kit put in I believe, I'll check the receipts, I know it cost me a little over 3 grand, I finally got an extra foot that could press the clutch for me while I investigated closer, upon initial inspection when he pushed the clutch pedal the slave cylinder did in fact extend out pushing the fork arm... so I'm looking at maybe throw out bearing or pressure plate? Thanks in advance guys

Edit: it's a power torque clutch kit ($800) & Genuine Clutch flywheel ($600)
