Question about 2004 Nav

I recently purchased a 2004 RX8

The Nav system boots up to the screen where it says press "Enter" to continue.
Nothing happens when I push Enter.

Are the button connections bad? Or do I need a nav DVD to continue?

Thanks for the help

You need a nav DVD. It's about $200. There was only one map update, quite a while ago.

Hi, I''ve had my '04 for 2 1/2 yrs.
Never used it.
If you are tech savvy, you might consider converting it to a tablet instead, there are several threads on it.
If I was better at tech stuff, I'd want to do that.

If there is no DVD in the DVD ROM, then yes you will need a DVD to get it to work. Make sure you push down on the joystick with a little pressure and it will sort of click. If there is no DVD in the system I don't think you will see "push the enter key" message. Instead you will see "insert DVD" or something similar.

Thanks for the responses. You are right, the DVD is there. I didn't realize it was behind the seat in the center until it started making noises.

So I am guessing the controls are not working or not connected or something. I'll have to look into taking apart the center console.
