Possible vacuum leak
So I took my car to the mechanic a while back to get it checked but it still has a hard time starting, he did a test on the hoses but said nothing was wrong with them. I still hear whistling when I speed up faster or when I drive in higher rpms, just wondering what you guys think. Should I get them checked again?

A vac leak will show up as increased fuel trims at idle. Have your mechanic hook up and OBD scanner and see what long term and short term fuel trims you get. If long-term is over 10, you have a vac leak. One often overlooked spot is the VFAD like. It's a thin line that goes from a nipple on the upper intake manifold under the intake tract and into the VFAD solenoid. Check if it's unplugged and/or missing. Then you'll want to reconnect it or plug the nipple on the UIM.
