Passenger door does not open. US with EU modules.

Hey Guys,

Hopefully, somebody can help. Long story short:

I live in Latvia. I've had 04' US version rx8 for years. Few months ago had to replace all three modules with ones that came from European 06' rx8.

Now my flip remote car key **** does not open the passenger door. I press once and it unlocks only driver's door. Passenger's door has to be opened from the inside.

I believe it has something to do with the wiring? Before It used to work as on all US cars: 1 press - opens driver's door, 2 press - all the doors.

Does it have something to do with wiring or you think this can be fixed by reprogramming modules?

P.S - also two other features stopped working(that i dont care much about but still): 1. after like 30sec after starting moving doors no longer automatically lock, 2. when you lock the car and press button twice - it does not make the beeping sound to confirm it's locked.

Thanks in advance!

Drake.

I reckon this could be a wiring issue though. below are the connectors comparison of UK and USA vehicles. It's different

From experience owning both US and JDM models I find the modules for most electronics will work but only partially. If you have a US model it's important you only get USDM electronics replacement. I've tried reprogramming and everything and it never works correctly 100%.

For the passenger door, try press unlock twice.
On mine, pressing once only unlocks the driver's side.

For the minor issues:
- my 2004 CADM locks don't auto-activate either, this might be by design.
- check that your trunk is fully closing, it won't arm the alarm if something is open, and the trunk not closing fully is not uncommon. Do the lights flash to indicate it's locked and armed?

Possible the EU modules just work differently. Why did you have to replace them and do you still have the originals?
