OMP leak
I can still only post here, but anyway, I’ve been chasing a leak for a fat minute now and I feel like I finally found the source but want more opinions on it.
i have repeatedly cleaned and cleaned the block to try and find the leak, I also added dye into the oil. I check each day and I can’t see anything glowing, only dirt and grime everywhere. Under my coils, along the oil pan, the whole front cover, and especially in the OMP area.
today I lifted my car at work and tried to look under the OMP with my uv light and bam, finally found glowing oil. It seems to be leaking from the copper seals for the oil lines.
i have an extra engine taken apart because it was only a 100$ (to my inexperienced eyes the housing and irons look to be mint, pm if you ever want pics) but any how, I have an extra OMP and it’s seals, do you guys believe it’s best for me to swap the seals or just buy new ones? I know their inexpensive.
I have cleaned this spot a lot and this was about 2-3 days after the cleaning, already super dirty.
In uv light so you guys can see the glowing
A close up to make it easier to look at. Please let me know what you guys think. I really hope it’s these seals leaking and not the front main seal. Ps I’ve done lots of research and reading. But nun that I found so far so pictures so I want to make sure.
