No hazards. No lock/unlock lights

Hi guys.
I'm a new rx8 owner and have been pulling my hair out over this hazard light issue. I've searched and read many posts on this subject but no-one seems to have updated their threads with any fixes.
so please help.
my hazard lights are not working. My indicators also do not flash when locking unlocking with the fob.
I've double and triple checked the boot and it's 100% closed. Same goes with all doors and the bonnet.
This problem started a week ago when my hazards started to flash whilst I was driving. I pulled over and pushed the button in a couple of times and it appeared to stop. I drove to the petrol station and whilst I was paying for fuel the car flashed it's little hazards at me again. Then the next day for some random reason the alarm kept going off by itself also. Every time someone walked past the alarm sounded. It was then I realised the indicators didn't flash when I unlocked the car. Please can anyone advise me on this.

Have you checked the fuses? The alarm going off sounds like a loose electrical connection somewhere (potentially at the battery posts). The flashing hazards while driving sounds like alarm being triggered while you're driving.

thanks for the reply loki. The hazards were coming on and off erratically but almost in the correct rhythm if that makes sense. However I still do not have any hazards at all now with the button pressed in or not. I have checked every fuse and they are all fine. Could the central locking unit or the flasher unit be at fault or may be a bad earth.

Fixed this myself if anyone has same sort of issues. The flasher unit was a little crusty inside so gave it a clean. Also the hazard switch had come away from the stereo circuit board so wasn't even plugged in, not sure how it happened but a little cleaning and 10 mins putting back together solved my issue.
