Hello to the forum.
After a lot of searching, I finally pulled the trigger to buy myself an RX-8.
I was looking for a red one, with sunroof, preferably cosmo and with cruise control, that is models after 06 and if possible, unmodified.
So I found it....It's an 07 cosmo, velocity red with sunroof, totally stock, original paint, no accidents, with 59k km on the clock and compression of 7.3 - 7.4.
I have it for a few months now and it needed a little bit of love to be up to my standards.
I also had the ecu a little bit modified with the following updates:

I also had the ecu a little bit modified with the following updates:
- Increase Oil Metering Pump (OMP) Injection Rates;
- Adjusted Low & High Speed Cooling Fan Trigger Temperatures;
- Adjusted Cold Start Rev Limit;
- Adjusted Dwell Timings
- Throttle Response (throttle reacts faster with less pedal angle)
- Increased the rev. limiter by 100rpm (nothing significant, my tuner did it to lure me into tuning it more)
All in all I'm happy but I didn't have the chance to drive it too much as we are still in lockdown here.
Especially the early days, roads were empty, road patrols did not bother. I had a hoot! Now, there's a lot of traffic, not so fun!
Enjoy it mate! Drive it! Have fun, be careful!
Welcome to the forum!! Your 8 looks amazing! I love the color combo! It's always been one of my favorites since the 8 was introduced. Your car looks to have been very well maintained. Was it previously owned by an enthusiast?
Thank you patrioti peloponisios (I'm from Patra myself) and mazdaverx7.
It was not easy at all to find one in acceptable condition. They were all presented as like new but it was far from the truth.
The owner was not really an enthusiast,he just had a lot of money and bought it when it was new for 41k Euros.
He used it to go to his work and back, so it was highway driven.
Τhen he did the regular maintenance recommended by mazda, nothing fancy, nothing extra (premix for example). In 2016 he surrendered the plates and it was sitting till late 2020 on a closed parking space.
Then got the plates back, did service anything that was necessary (all fluids, tyres, spark plugs, coils, all recalls) and put it on sale.
I did check it before buying as it was sitting for a long time, the compression was fine, the leather interior has some scratches but nothing worth loosing sleep over, I can live with that.
Once I got it I once again changed all fluids to flush any old remaining oil.
I also pdr'd it, as it had over 20 (!!!) little dents all over. Nothing major, all is fine now, even though my wallet hurts as pdr here is expensive.
Also replaced the broken passenger airbag cover and some other little plastic pieces that had some marks on them, like the one surrounding the gear lever.
I have given it as much love as I could. Now I'm waiting for the lockdown to end to take it on a trip.
