New owner 2010 R3
Just picked up my first rotary, very excited.
Short story found my 2010 in Amarillo, with 71k.
I paid Mazda Amarillo to comp test before I bought. #s came back 620 to a high of 660.
I offered seller $6000 because of low comp.
Took to Bob Moore Mazda and tested low 710-760. Was told "great you have a strong engine!" " Mazda only replaces if a rotor face is 599 kpa and down" was not happy with the disparity between the tests. My R3 is still under warranty until August 23 so 2018.
I called Mazda Usa and got them to approve a third test free of charge.
Guess what , 610-660s. Mazda approved a new engine, it has been on backorder since 06/10/2018.
No worries, since then I have put some parts together, BHR Midpipe, BHR ignition, Racing Beat header.
When funds allow I will pick up the Racing Beat intake with Revi, and decide on my catback, most likely HKS Hi power.
Mazda has agreed to install parts for no labor so when motor gets here I am having all 6 oil injectors replaced for $540, new clutch, throw out bearing, pressure plate for $503.
I am daily driving R3 now, and can tell plugs are tired so looking forward to dropping her off and then picking up a whole new animal!!!

Yeah for sure, I have been lurking for about 5 months. Only thing in question is how to "break in" two schools of thought. And since I have a Series 2 to pre mix or not. I know series 2 has 3 oil injectors per rotor as opposed to 2, and a higher OMP pressure, so some say no need just keep clean oil....
