New member- Rotary Virgin!

Picked up a Red 6 speed 2005 RX8 About 4 days ago in Minneapolis MN. Have switched out to 5w 30 Synthetic, removed Airbox "baffles" and put in K'N filter, added 25mm wheel spacers on all 4 corners, different shift ****, have been adding Mystic FD 2 cycle oil in gas tank, and have been cleaning everything. Coils were just replaced and new Falken tires were put on before I got it. Car has 50,333 miles on it and of all the "toy" cars I have owned, I find myself smiling a ton more in this one. Have been reading the forum for 3 weeks so I could get familiar with the car before I jumped.

Nice to be here and thanks for all the info you have already taught me!

Nice car! Enjoy and welcome to the club!

[Now put those baffles back in the air box and throw that K&N filter in the trash.]

Was told it was done when coils/plugs were recently replaced. Was in the 115-120 psi range- not sure if that was cold or hot start- assuming cold. Car fires up well cold or hot starting, idles well, and pulls hard when I ask it to. Just going with past owners word with no reason to doubt that- yet!

Thanks.. the K&N was only about $9.00 more than the "standard" one so figured wth. Been running K&N in my bikes and cars for a while so have all the cleaning/oiling supplies to use up on the filters I truly didn't notice any difference with the baffles out but the stock filter was not pretty so any filter was a vast improvement.

As long as you know what you are getting into with K&N. To me, the oil and dirt in the intake is not worth the ~1HP gain at 8K. The stock airbox is actually very well designed, and most of the mods people do to "improve" it actually have the opposite effect.
