New Member/ mod list

Hi everyone, My name is Kyle im 20 yrs old. I just bought my first car 04 RX-8 it's a 6spd m/t with the "true red interior" like everyone else ofc i'm going to mod it because that's the fun part.

mod list
AEM cold air intake
Exhaust headers
Exhaust system with high flow cat and mid pipe
Under drive pulleys
Throttle body spacer
Cobb access port/or a cheaper alternative
Coil overs and some wheel spacers[then slam the **** outta it =D]

That's about it for now until i'm out of college id like some input on what you guys think and suggest or what you would recommend! please!
Thank you

exhaust system with high flow cat and down pipe we dont have a downpipe, so you are actually referring to the 'midpipe' which (ideally) houses the cat. Be aware that there are very few (read: 1 - 2 verified) high flow catcons that dont fail thanks to the heat of the rotary
under drive pulleys not really worth the cost to be honest
throttle body spacer unless you need a clean way to feed some nitrous spray to the TB, there really is no need
Cobb access port/or a cheaper alternative the only recommended 'cheaper' alternative is Mazdaedit, mind you it requires some know how and computer savvy
coil overs and some wheel spacers good

Welcome!

Definitely read the newbies guide to modding, and you should also look into a compression test to know the status of your engine.

Thank you
my recommendations are...
aem-better ways to diy cold air to stock airbox

headers good mod if theyre not ebay cobb tune will be even better

cat or midpipe-shuld be first mod oem cats fail (save yours) or sell it to me

underdrive- bad no no

tb spacer- do these work?

cobb- very usefull just on fuel savings would pay itself with economy tune. get your intake headers midpipe and exhaust BEFORE TUNING

coilovers- unless your getting the full on 100,000 gazillion way adjustables and USING them get springs with proper rates. cheaper & gets what you need done
spacers are dangerous imo buy a rim that fits perfectly instead (measure after you lower)

a few things id recommend you getting before doing any of that^ is a vented hood to keep those temps down

cut your fenderliner for better oil cooling

check your complete ignition system

basically make sure your 8 is running in pristine condition before trying to make it go faster. you would be surprised how well the car performes running in tip top shape stock.
