New clutch problems?
i have an 04 rx8 with 6spd manual. about two weeks ago i had the factory clutch replaced because it was slipping and i couldnt shift into first or reverse with the car running. i had an exedy stage 1 clutch put in, the replaced the full clutch assembly, full pedal assembly, and master and slave cylinder. well about three days ago it started slipping...and now i cant shift into first or reverse. this is a new clutch with maybe 700miles on it (i moved the day it was done being worked on and it was about a five hundred mile move) but im not that hard on the clutch, i dont aggressively shift or ride the clutch or hold the gas or clutch at the same time i dont stall...its not my first manual nor will it be my last. but anyway, a new clutch shouldnt act like this. any ideas whats up?

A new OEM clutch wouldn't act like that.
Welcome to the Exedy Stage 1. It has fairly bad quality control, and a significant portion of them won't work out of the box, and a fair bit more will fail within a short period. I replaced the original OEM clutch at 89k with an Exedy Stage 1 that lasted only 20,000 miles of the same driving before it failed. I replaced with another Exedy Stage 1 and immediately had problems. I found it was starting to shred itself apart at 100 miles. I pulled it again and replaced with OEM and everything was perfect.
I'm not the only one with Exedy Stage 1 problems, it's a growing trend. Some release bearing problems, some clutch disc problems, some pressure plate problems. I am not aware of any successful warranty claims. I highly recommend people avoid it.
Sorry, but you wasted your money. Replace with OEM.

Yeah, it didn't used to have that problem. Only surfaced in the past 18 months or so, and search engines will show the positive recommendations from prior to that.
There are 2 pedal adjustments, and you can see if increasing the depth of the plunger on the pedal that pushes on the master cylinder will give you some of the ability back as a patch until you can get it repaired.
Note: You might as well check the clutch pedal play to begin with first, just in case it's adjusted itself out of spec. Also check the pedal to make sure it's not a failing pedal.

is it just the stage 1s that do that or exedy in general? my buddy has an exedy on his civic (oem replacement) and he hasnt had any issues with his. but i will try pedal adjustments and see what it does.
