New catch can, worried about new problems. (New owner)

So here is where I am currently at.

I have been looking through the forum for a bit closer to two months, and I have learned more about the rx8 than all other cars combined thanks to you guys. This car was pretty neglected so there is much to this car I still need to do (and much more I need and want to learn). After working out the common dirty MAF sensor due to oil in the intake, I have since added a catch can as suggested by the forums.

My concern is the hose returning from the catch can runs right above the alternator and actually touches what I assume is the mounting bracket. I didn't notice whether or not the original hose touched the alternator but after close inspection there was a small flat area that looked like it melted due to the heat. The previous owner broke the L plastic that connected the original hose to the intake so he replaced it with what looks like a double sided hose connection that is strait causing the hose to be closer to the alternator than it should.

Should I remove the hoses and rearrange them?

Side notes:
The catch can entry sits slightly higher than the oil valve because it is a bit large (I would assume small amounts of oil spill would just return back and I hope thats ok)

The red electrical tape was temporary and I currently have snug fitting hose clamps
keeping them together.

Sorry about the dark photos and..

And I appreciate any help anyone can offer me.
