Need some input

First off I will explain why im posting here and not the designated area: I do not have enough permission. Yes I have looked up the following countless times.

Ok so I own a 2006 GT trim. 62000KM on her. New engine as of august(Warranty) and I am not new to standard, or drive her incredibly hard.

When shifting from first to second at say about 4000 -4500 RPM the gear grinds. Same thing for 5th but not nearly as bad. I took it into Mazda this week and told them that I suspect it might be the synchros(As I have looked up the best I can) She wrote all my info down and the problems I was having and said she would give me a call. 3 hours later she calls me and says my clutch release bearing is on its' way out. Ok, that's fine I kinda knew that from before but it was a slight whine to it nothing I was concerned with. I went there to pick up the car because she was so convinced that was the answer. I have never experienced bad syncros or a really bad throw out bearing before so I accepted that fact. Paid 100 bucks for them to tell me that. Later during the day when I started to think more and more and more about it and reading online and on here. I can't seem to find my symptoms listed ANYWHERE to point to a bad throw out bearing being the cause of second and fifth gear grinding where it does. It's really bugging me. I knew the bearing is a wear and tear item so it is most defiantly not under warranty but I know the snychros are. I am going to phone again later today to ask if maybe she miss interpreted what I had said. Maybe she thought I said it was making a grinding noise at 4000 rpm not while I was shifting. Anyways, I would love to get someone else to provide me with some answers as I am out of them. I'm actually pretty good with fixing vehicles so I'm not oblivious to the car world and actually know a thing or two. So this is why it's bothering me. My gut says I'm right.

Posts merged back. Posting the same thing in multiple areas is considered spamming.

You likely didn't get any responses here because one or more of:
A) you posted in the wee hours of the morning, nearly the entire forum is asleep, so no one saw it come across Live,
and B) you ran all the sentances together in a big block of text that is hard-ish to read,
and C) even for the people that read it, you really didn't ask anything,
and D) your conclusion seems right, assuming you provided all the facts.

Didn't really mean to post in 2 areas. I just was unable to post here because of insufficient posts. I would gladly delete the one in the newb forum as I had originally had wanted to post here.

You did mean to post there, you even said so (and pasted the same post word for word)

... and yes, I'm aware of the restrictions in place for new members, they are there for a reason. Trying to dodge them doesn't typically impress anyone here.

Do you have a specific question in regards to your issue?

I'm just trying to see if other people have had the same symptoms and what they had found the cause to be. And Sorry if my exact words were wrong. Let me re-phrase: I did not want to post in the newb spot. I had intended to post here, but was forced to post there. I realized that at 10 post I could post here. I am sorry for the double threads. Next time I will try to do a better job at either re-wording or writing a whole different lengthy post. I would like to get an idea of the solution before I throw down 700$ on something that may not even be the root cause.

Yes. Gear shifting problems that are gear dependant (meaning they only happen in some gears and not all, means that there is an issue in the gear box with those gears. The only exception is with first, since the big shaft speed differentials by themselves can exacerbate other problems. If you can't duplicate the problems in other gears at all, then it should indeed be something wrong inside the gearbox.

OK. That's what I needed to know. Now I can go to Mazda on Monday and get them to Check again this time taking a test drive. Thanks for your help.
