I moved all of your off topic posts from the octane thread into your preexisting thread on the same topic. This thread looks a bit messy, but that is what happens when you cross post the same thing to different areas.

Hi RX8 Pearl Red, were you able to use any of the info I sent you with links to rotary compression testers, and tutorials showing how to check the compression properly with both rotary specific testers, and also when you only have access to standard compression testers ?

Hey all,
Every time i speed up the car above 6k rpm, check engine light flashes for sometime and then disappears. after disappearing, it never shows again when i take the baby to 8k rpm. After a day or two, it starts again. My mechanic checked out all the plugs, coils and leads and they are all Okay. Also , i am not getting any code ( and thats the strange thing)
Anyone here seems to know whats going on?

^ Don't listen to any of that crap that blakerx87 said (other than #2).
With that mileage plugs, wires, and coil replacements are a must in my opinion and you should have your cat checked as well if you still have symptoms after you address the ignition problems. But bad coils, wires, and plugs can definitely cause the symptoms you are experiencing.

Anyone here seems to know whats going on? And when i drive there is absolutely no reduction of power

Brand new plugs, coils and plug wires arrived from USA. gonna install tomorrow. will see if that little idle missing thing sort out or not after changing. already cleaned cat, ess and maf.
Also after cleaning CAT and changing oil, the car engine sound is significantly reduced. So very little noise of the engine now.
As there is no proper guage to measure compression here , so my mechanic and me tested the car all day to check how the car starts at cold and when hot. At cold ( overnight parked outside the garage at 50f temp outside) the car starts within 3 seconds. When hot, car starts instantly which im sure is because of good compression(its 87k driven).
We tested the car for whole day by shutting it down for an hour, for 2 hours and for 3 to 4 hours, the car starts instantly every time. Only when it is cold overnight and parked outside, it takes 3 seconds which i believe is due to the plugs as two plugs are not giving current properly. Also i never let my car temp go above 203f . i bought OBD2 scanner for that.
Anyways will post results soon after changing the ignition
