My plans - just 2 more months from now
Two months from now, the RX8 will be going into a shop here in Fort Worth called Texas Track Works (they just don't know it yet ).
I'm a simple guy. I like clean lines and an clean ride. Every single one of my other customized cars/trucks I've owned have all been simple and to the point and my 8 will be no exception.
I'm a fan of super low cars. I had a 1997 S-10 (when mini trucking was still cool) that was about 2 inches off of the ground and that was without bags. I loved being low. My 1984 300ZX Turbo was loooooow. Stock except for springs and wheels and that thing got more looks than a model. My VW 1.8T Jetta was bone stock except for the suspension, which was full coil over.
Needless to say, I love the stock look of my cars but I've always liked being uber low. And I don't think I'm going to change that up with this car.
I'm going back and forth between these two, but I really want to invest in the Racing Beat springs because they seem to keep a more factory ride and just a half inch of lowering. But the Eibachs seem to lower the front much more which is awesome looking on these cars.
I've tossed around the Megan Racing Springs which significantly lower the car on both ends and looks great, but I don't want to change out my stock shocks right now. Perhaps I may still go that route. We'll see.
Anyways, I've got some NRG extended lug nuts ordered in bright green (my wife's favorite color) that I will be using with the stock rims. And lastly, I'm still on the fence about the OE style Seibon carbon hood.
But besides that, I may never touch this car again except for lower springs and different rims.
Simplicity will get you a long ways, I say.

Texas track works screwed up the install of a local guys coilovers and we had to fix it. Perfect example of why I do my own work. If a place call Texas Track Works can't install coilovers properly then that is just sad. And please don't put Megan anything on your RX-8.

Yeah they could not not get the top of the coilovers to bolt up so they blamed it on the coilovers themselves and let the customer leave that way. They may have a good rep but that is what they did so it is what it is. Pretty shoddy work if you ask me.
Sometimes getting the top of these types of coilovers to line up on the top takes some finesse and they obviously didn't have experience with that so they blamed the coilovers but really they just didn't know what they were doing.
