Hi evryone
, As I told rx8 is my child hood dream car so after a long time I brought it

now my situation is become terrible.

# yesterday I had to repaire my fuel tank as it was leaking so go it repaire.

and today suddnly my car stoped while driving but it started after a few seconds so I continued my journey and agin it stoped so I went to the nearest mechanic and showed him ,
he showed me that when those ppl who repaired the fuel tank have put silicon to cover the o rings and now silicon have gone evry where the tank
# and he also mentioned that fuel motor is so hot and its stucked with silicon so what have caused is when the motor gets hot motor is shutinng it self and the car stops and why it satrts after a while is when the fuel motor gets cool it starts agn and car only stops when I drive slowly or when I put my gear to the parking ,
postion , it justs stop when I drive I fell that engine is losing power and it just stops please help me guys what should I do

I'm assuming you are on a mobile? Stop driving the car till the problem gets sorted out.

Second sounds like the fuel pump is bad, get a new fuel pump put in and go back and demand the shop that installed the bad one pay for the damages.

I agree, sounds like the fuel pump is dying. Not sure how the pump would have sucked up silicone, especially if the filter was properly installed.. Nevermind, took me a bit to understand the latter half of your post.

the fuel filter should have stopped most of it from getting there I would also have them check that aswell

It would have taken awhile for the silicon to start to deteriorate, hence you being able to drive it for some time. As I stated in another thread, never use auto shop bought silicone around fuel. The RX8 does not have a standard type of fuel filter found on earlier model vehicles, it has a type of sock covering the intake on the fuel pump. If you wish to inspect the fuel pump yourself, remove the left rear seat cushion, there you will see a sheet metal cover retained by 4 screw's, remove them and lift off the cover, there is a plastic retaining ring which holds the pump in the tank, there is also a large O ring used to seal the pump in the tank, this has more than likely failed or has been damaged by not being installed correctly and is probably the source of the original leak. The part # for the O ring is F151-42-A61
