Misc. Tech Questions for New RX8
I got my rx8 home last weekend. I bought it dead and had to tow it in. Put new coils on , hooked up a set of cables, and successfully deflooded it with the pedal. Now starts the cleanup.
I have the white LED interiors coming as the stock lights might as well not been there. What can you recommend for cleaning the plastic covers, especially on the map lights? I'm polishing the headlight lenses this weekend(bad oxidation on HIDs). Would that be too strong?
The doors are missing a clip/trim on a hole directly above the window controls. Anyone know where I can look to find the part number for that?
Building a new splash pan soon. Any suggestions on material? Planning on using 2 mm aluminum.
Trunk doesn't pop. What's a good thread? Will search, just as I'm at it figured I'd ask with everything else.
I'm going to go to the dealership soon for a comp test (hard hot starts), get them to check over the engine maps and possibly reflash(04 auto) and turn the omp up as high as possible (to help til I get Sohn adapter). Anything else I should do?
Finally, on here everyone says wait til the engine blows to rebuild, but when an apex seal goes it takes the rotor, housing and side irons with it typically. If I were to rebuild, wouldn't there be a decent savings by trying to preserve those pieces?
If you just want to pick one and answer it, especially the door clips as they drive me crazy, it would be appreciated. Thanks
