sounds like the coolant sensor is faulty. this is a fairly common issue with the series 1. there are some threads on here that can help you diagnose. Sorry I would post a link but I am on mobile

Mine comes on also mainly when on highway with cruise on @ 65-70. Slow down it goes off, has only come on once driving @ town. No leaks and is topped off. From what I have read I'm guessing sensor on mine as well.

Look for a thread on the coolant bottle. It is a common problem. I just disconnected mine.

Another issue is that, at higher RPM, the water pump will cavitate a bit and foam the coolant. The sensor will not float in the foam.

I've had my 8 for about four years my light came on three months in. I just unplugged it and check level when I check oil level. So just unplug it and make sure you check it at least once a week.

I have to jump in and correct this since I've been doing stuff with the cavitation of the pump recently. Any amount of foam in the coolant bottle isn't from cavitation, is from the upper bottle return hose splashing as it spills into the coolant bottle. The splashing is exaggerated at higher rpms, so there are more bubbles.

Cavitation is the formation of vapor bubbles (think steam) due to the ultra low pressure immediately behind an impeller blade, any bubbles from this implode and disappear almost immediately after leaving the impeller.
